INEC Opens Media Accreditation Portal For 2027 General Elections, Deadline December 1
Portal opened October 30, closes December 1 — late applications will not be accepted
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened online accreditation for journalists and media organisations that want to cover the 2027 general elections.
The presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled for January 16, 2027, while the governorship and State Houses of Assembly polls are fixed for February 6, 2027.
INEC, in a notice issued on Friday, advised interested media organisations to visit its portal to register.
According to the commission, the dedicated portal opened on October 30 and will close at midnight on December 1.
The commission warned that late applications will not be accepted, saying the portal will shut down automatically at the deadline.
