Dr. Alabi Oluwatoyin Tajudeen (AOT) has congratulated Elder John Olayioye on his elevation to the prestigious status of Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (FNITP), describing the achievement as a significant milestone that brings pride to Igbaja, his hometown in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
AOT, in a congratulatory message, commended Olayioye for attaining the distinguished professional recognition, noting that the honour reflects the importance of dedication, professional excellence and sustained contributions to society.
He said the elevation was not only a personal achievement for Olayioye but also a source of pride for the people of Igbaja, whose sons and daughters continue to distinguish themselves in their respective professions and contribute to the development of their communities.
The APC stakeholder and Kwara development advocate noted that town planning plays a critical role in sustainable development through orderly land use, effective urban management, environmental protection and the provision of functional infrastructure.
According to him, the expertise of experienced town planners is essential to building safer, better-organised and more sustainable communities, particularly as towns and cities respond to growing population, infrastructure demands and environmental challenges.
AOT expressed optimism that Olayioye’s elevation would further strengthen his capacity to contribute to professional advancement and community development, particularly in initiatives that promote the growth and long-term development of Igbaja.
He also called for greater collaboration among professionals, traditional institutions, community organisations and government authorities to harness local expertise for sustainable development across Igbaja and Kwara State.
Congratulating the new FNITP Fellow, AOT described him as a worthy ambassador of Igbaja whose professional accomplishment would inspire younger generations to pursue excellence and use their knowledge and experience to serve humanity.
He wished Elder Olayioye greater achievements and more opportunities to contribute to the advancement of the town-planning profession and the development of his community.
AOT reaffirmed that celebrating the accomplishments of distinguished indigenes remains an important way of promoting community pride, encouraging professional excellence and inspiring collective commitment to the development of Igbaja and Kwara State.
