Empowering Women, Youths Key to Nigeria’s Economic Growth — Adimabua

Prophetess Bosede Adimabua, founder of the Adimabua Foundation and 2026 Chairperson of the Holy Mary Band of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Ilorin District Headquarters, has called for greater empowerment of women, youths, widows and other vulnerable Nigerians to accelerate the country’s economic growth.
Adimabua made the call in Ilorin during activities marking the 64th anniversary of the Holy Mary Band, where she supported selected beneficiaries with Point of Sale (POS) equipment and other forms of assistance.
She said the initiative was aimed at helping beneficiaries become economically productive through business support, skills acquisition, healthcare services and other interventions.
“Today, I am here to celebrate people that are in need — the widows, men and women of God, youths and other lives. When a woman is empowered, a nation is empowered,” she said.
Adimabua said the Adimabua Foundation had sustained its empowerment programmes for about 30 years, with interventions covering skills acquisition, educational support and assistance for people seeking to establish small-scale businesses.
She disclosed that about 1,000 people were targeted to benefit from the current empowerment programme, adding that her motivation was driven by the desire to serve God and humanity.
“We are here to serve God and serve humanity. Those who are blessed more than others should also touch lives because that is the essence of coming into this world,” she said.
She urged beneficiaries to use the assistance judiciously and extend similar support to others when they become financially stable.
The prophetess also appealed to the Federal and state governments to prioritise programmes that would improve access to healthcare, create jobs and expand skills acquisition opportunities, particularly for youths, widows and other vulnerable Nigerians.
“I am appealing to the government of this nation: please help the people you serve. Let our leaders make the people first,” she said.
Adimabua further called for greater investment in education and peace-building, urging public officials to seek divine wisdom and consider the impact of government policies on ordinary Nigerians.
One of the beneficiaries, Prophetess Rachel Adetoyi, described Adimabua as a woman committed to improving the lives of others, saying her humanitarian interventions had brought happiness and relief to many people.
“She is a wonderful woman. I really appreciate her efforts. She has been making many people happy in many ways, not only through POS or food. If you need financial assistance and other things, she has been doing it through her foundation, and God has been providing for her,” Adetoyi said.
Adetoyi, who said she had personally benefited from the foundation, disclosed that Adimabua had supported the training and welfare of a seven-year-old motherless child under her care.
“I am one of the beneficiaries because I have a motherless baby whom she trained through her foundation for almost a year. The boy is seven years old now. I really appreciate God in her life,” she said.
She urged other women and individuals with the capacity to assist vulnerable people to emulate Adimabua’s humanitarian efforts.
“I pray that she will continue to move to higher ground. My advice to other women who have the capacity is that they should try and emulate her because it is a very good gesture,” Adetoyi added.
