Ilorin Leaders Lauds Intelligence-Led Policing Towards Improved Security in Kwara

Prominent Ilorin traditional and community leaders have commended the Kwara State Police Command for its intelligence-driven approach to policing, saying sustained surveillance, community cooperation and inter-agency collaboration have contributed significantly to the relative peace in the state.
The commendation was made on Thursday when the Magaji Nda of Ilorin, Dr. Saliu Woru Mohammed, led a delegation of traditional chiefs and community leaders on a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Ojo Adekimi, at the command headquarters.
Woru Mohammed described CP Adekimi as a “Digital Police”, attributing the state’s relatively low crime rate to proactive policing, intelligence gathering and improved coordination among security agencies.
He particularly cited the recent rescue of kidnapped residents of Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area as a major security achievement, commending the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, the operational efforts of CP Adekimi and the collaboration among security agencies in Kwara.
The delegation, which included the Kure of Ilorin, Ajia-Opele of Ilorin and Mogaji-Bamidele of Ilorin, acknowledged the relative peace across the state and praised security personnel for their professionalism, responsiveness and commitment to protecting lives and property.

Woru Mohammed, a retired police officer and former spokesperson, stressed that maintaining security required a strong partnership between security agencies and the communities they serve.
He urged residents to provide security agencies with timely and credible information, noting that community intelligence remained crucial to preventing crimes, identifying criminals and enabling security agencies to respond effectively to emerging threats.
Responding, CP Adekimi thanked the delegation for its confidence in the state’s security architecture and assured residents that the command would not relent in its efforts to protect the state.
The commissioner said the relative peace being enjoyed in Kwara would not be taken for granted, adding that the command would continue to deploy intelligence-led operations, technology-driven policing, community engagement and collaboration with other security agencies.
He said the command would also continue to identify and close security gaps while maintaining operational pressure on criminal networks across the state.
CP Adekimi assured residents that the Police and other security agencies would sustain efforts aimed at preventing crime and ensuring the safety of lives and property in Kwara.
