Dr Alabi Celebrates Nigerian Youths, Urges Investment in Skills, Purposeful Networking
Dr Oluwatoyin Tajudeen Alabi has joined millions of Nigerians and people across the world in celebrating young people on the occasion of the 2026 International Youth Day,
Dr Alabi urged the youth to invest in skills, build purposeful networks and embrace community service as pathways to leadership and success.
In a goodwill message marking the day, Dr Alabi described young people as critical drivers of development and encouraged them to take deliberate steps toward preparing themselves for the opportunities and responsibilities of the future.
He urged youths to make skill acquisition a priority, stressing that relevant knowledge and practical skills remain among the greatest assets they can possess in an increasingly competitive world.
According to him, young people should also cultivate purposeful relationships and networks, noting that collaboration and collective effort can open doors to greater opportunities and impact.
“Invest in SKILL – it’s your greatest asset. Network with PURPOSE – go far together. Serve your COMMUNITY – leadership is service,” he said.
Dr Alabi further encouraged young people to contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities, emphasising that genuine leadership is rooted in service, responsibility and a commitment to the common good.
He expressed confidence in the potential of Nigerian youths to shape a better future, urging them not to wait for tomorrow before preparing themselves for the opportunities ahead.
“The future belongs to those who prepare today. I believe in YOU,” he stated.
The International Youth Day celebration provides an opportunity to recognise the contributions, aspirations and challenges of young people while encouraging greater investment in their development, participation and leadership.
Dr Alabi reaffirmed his belief in the capacity of the youth to drive positive change, calling on them to remain focused, acquire relevant skills, build meaningful partnerships and actively participate in community development.
