Frontline politician and public affairs advocate, Dr. Oluwatoyin Tajudeen Alabi (AOT), has called on eligible Nigerians to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing that active participation in the electoral process remains one of the most effective ways citizens can shape the future of the country.

Dr. Alabi made the appeal while addressing supporters in Ilorin, noting that many people often delay voter registration because they have not yet decided which candidate or political party to support.

According to him, obtaining a PVC is not about choosing a candidate immediately but about securing the constitutional right to participate in elections when the time comes.

He said, “You do not have to know who you will vote for before registering. The important thing is to have your PVC.

“Your voter card gives you the power to make a choice when the time comes. Without it, your voice cannot be heard at the ballot box.”

The APC chieftain emphasised that voting remains one of the strongest instruments of democracy, urging Nigerians not to surrender their right to influence governance through apathy or indecision.

“Your vote is your voice. Just as people should not remain silent on issues affecting their communities, they should not deny themselves the opportunity to participate in electing leaders.

Register first, get your PVC, and make an informed decision when elections approach,” he added.

Alabi further encouraged youths, women, and first-time voters to take advantage of voter registration opportunities whenever announced by the electoral authorities, describing their participation as crucial to strengthening democratic institutions.

He noted that meaningful change can only be achieved when citizens actively engage in the democratic process and hold leaders accountable through the ballot.

The politician also urged community leaders, civil society groups, religious organisations, and other stakeholders to intensify awareness campaigns on voter registration and civic responsibility.

According to him, a large voter turnout and increased political participation would help deepen democracy and ensure that elected leaders remain responsive to the needs of the people.

Dr. Alabi, APC Stalwart reiterated that every eligible Nigerian deserves a say in determining the nation’s future and called on citizens not to wait until election season before taking steps to secure their PVCs.

“Register today, collect your PVC, and keep your voice alive. The future belongs to those who participate,” he noted.
