2027: Dr. Alabi Rejects Claims Against Kwara South, Reaffirms Guber Ambition for Greater Kwara

A frontline Governorship aspirant, Dr. Alabi Oluwatoyin Tajudeen, has dismissed alleged attempts to edge Kwara South out of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship contest, saying he remains firmly in the race and is focused on emerging victorious, not merely participating.
Speaking on Sunday, Dr. Alabi said he would not be intimidated or “chickened out” by what he described as “false political permutations” being promoted by desperate aspirants ahead of the 2027 APC primaries.
“I am not in this race to make up the numbers,” he said. “I am contesting to win. Kwara South has the capacity, the political structure, and the collective will to produce a governor who can unite the state and strengthen the APC.”
The aspirant said his growing support base across the state is anchored on his policy-driven agenda, particularly programmes aimed at empowering youths and women.
Dr. Alabi also expressed appreciation to the people of Igbaja District and Ifelodun Local Government Area for their support and confidence in his aspiration.
“Giving me a solid home base is encouraging and morale-boosting,” he stated. “It shows that the people believe in this vision and are prepared to work for its success.”
The governorship hopeful further stressed that the contest should not be approached as a “do-or-die affair,” while reaffirming his determination to remain in the race until the end.
“This contest will not be a do-or-die affair,” he added. “But I will pursue this objective to its logical conclusion.”
Political observers believe Kwara South’s performance in recent elections has strengthened the district’s argument for greater relevance in the 2027 governorship equation.
Dr. Alabi’s declaration further expands the growing list of aspirants positioning ahead of the APC primary process.
Meanwhile, party officials are yet to announce the mode of the primaries, with both direct and consensus options reportedly under consideration.
With the APC yet to settle for a primary format, the governorship race remains open and increasingly competitive.
However, Dr. Alabi’s position appears unmistakable: Kwara South is approaching the contest not from a position of weakness, but with confidence, structure, numbers, and readiness to lead.
