The Coalition of Concerned Youths of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara has called for justice, equity, and fair representation in the Kwara Central Senatorial District.
The Chairman of the coalition, Alhaji Abdul-Salam Ajelanwa, made the appeal on Wednesday during a news conference organised in Ilorin.
He stressing the need to decentralise the senatorial representation within the district.
Ajelanwa noted that political representation in Kwara Central has long been dominated by the Ilorin metropolis, particularly Ilorin West, to the detriment of other areas.
He emphasised that all parts of the district deserve equal opportunities to produce leaders, arguing that such inclusiveness would address longstanding grievances, build trust, and strengthen unity within the party.
He, however, disclosed that Prof. Fatai Aremu has emerged as the consensus senatorial candidate for Asa Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, Aremu’s international exposure and extensive global network positions him to attract development partners, investments, and strategic collaborations that would benefit not only Asa but Kwara state as a whole.
Ajelanwa urged party members to remain focused, law-abiding, and united in the pursuit of a collective victory for the PDP in the 2027 general elections.
According to him, the coalition also expressed displeasure over what they call “need for an end to the political witch-hunt of Sen. Saraki”. (NAN)
