As Christians in Kwara State and across Nigeria observe Good Friday and prepare for Easter celebrations, Dr. Oluwatoyin Alabi (AOT) has called for unity, reflection, and renewed commitment to shared values.

In a statement by the media team, marking the Easter season, Dr. Alabi described the period as one of the most significant in the Christian calendar, symbolising sacrifice, redemption, and the triumph of hope over despair.

He said Good Friday, which represents the ultimate act of sacrifice and selfless love, should inspire both personal reflection and a broader commitment to building a compassionate and inclusive society.

“The Easter story is not merely a religious narrative; it is a timeless reminder that sacrifice, perseverance, and faith can lead to renewal and victory,” he said.

“These are values we must embrace as a people to overcome our collective challenges.”

Dr. Alabi noted that amid prevailing social and economic pressures, the message of Easter serves as a call for unity across religious, ethnic, and political divides.

He urged residents of Kwara State to use the season to strengthen social bonds, promote peaceful coexistence, and recommit to ideals that support progress and stability.

“Easter is a season of renewal, not only of faith, but of purpose,” he added.

“It challenges us to rebuild trust, restore unity, and work together toward a future that benefits all.”

The governorship aspirant emphasised that sustainable development depends on unity, mutual respect, and a shared vision among citizens.

He encouraged individuals, families, and community leaders to extend acts of kindness, support vulnerable groups, and foster harmony within their communities, noting that the true essence of the season lies in uplifting others.

Dr. Alabi also stressed the importance of collective responsibility in shaping the future of Kwara State, adding that meaningful progress requires both committed leadership and active citizen participation.

He wished Christians a reflective Good Friday and a joyful Easter, praying that the season would bring renewed peace, stronger unity, and lasting prosperity to Kwara State and Nigeria.

“May this season of sacrifice and resurrection inspire us to rise above our differences and work together for the greater good,” he added.
