Following the safe release of victims recently abducted by bandits in Adanla Community, Dr. Oluwatoyin Alabi, a community leader, philanthropist and advocate of good governance, has called for renewed commitment to community vigilance and stronger collaboration with security agencies to safeguard lives and property across rural communities.
While reacting to the development, Dr. Alabi described the release of the victims as a welcome relief to their families and residents of the community, who had been gripped by fear and uncertainty since the unfortunate incident occurred.
He expressed gratitude to Almighty God for the safe return of the victims and commended the combined efforts of security personnel, community leaders, and other stakeholders, whose interventions contributed to securing their freedom.
While acknowledging the joy that has greeted the news of their release, Dr. Alabi noted that the incident serves as a serious reminder of the urgent need to strengthen grassroots security mechanisms and deepen cooperation between communities and law enforcement agencies.
According to him, communities must remain proactive by supporting intelligence gathering, reporting suspicious activities, and working closely with relevant authorities to prevent criminal elements from finding safe havens within rural settlements.
Dr. Alabi, therefore, urged residents of Adanla, and the wider Ifelodun Local Government Area to maintain unity, resilience, and vigilance in order to preserve peace and stability in the area.
He added that sustainable security can only be achieved when communities, traditional institutions, and security agencies operate in partnership and shared responsibility.
Dr. Alabi concluded by praying for lasting peace in Adanla Community and across Kwara State, as he also expressed optimism that collective efforts will continue to prevail over forces that threaten the safety and well-being of the people.
