Dr Oluwatoyin Tajudeen Alabi has extended warm greetings and best wishes to the Christian across the state just as Christians across Kwara State commence the sacred the Lent season

In a statement released by his media team, Dr Alabi described Lent as a solemn and significant period in the Christian calendar, marked by prayer, fasting, repentance, and almsgiving in preparation for Easter.

He urged Christians to use the 40-day period as a time for deep spiritual reflection, renewed commitment to faith, and acts of compassion toward others.

“Lent is a sacred season that calls for self-examination, sacrifice, and a closer walk with God. I encourage our Christian brothers and sisters to embrace this period with sincerity of heart, seeking spiritual renewal and extending love to the needy,” he said.

Dr Alabi also emphasised the importance of unity, peaceful coexistence, and mutual respect among people of different faiths in Kwara State, noting that the shared values of sacrifice, charity, and devotion during Lent contribute to the moral and social development of society.

He further prayed that the Lenten season would usher in peace, healing, and divine guidance for families, communities, and the nation at large.

“As you begin this solemn journey of faith, may God grant you the strength to uphold the virtues of patience, humility, and kindness. May this season draw us closer to one another and to the ideals of peace and harmony,” he said.
