Dr Oluwatoyin Alabi Grieves Over Death of Islamic Scholar, Prof. Lanre Badmus

Dr Oluwatoyin Tajudeen Alabi a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Kwara State, and immediate past National President of Igbaja Progressive Union has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of renowned Islamic scholar, Professor Yusuf Olanrewaju (Lanre) Badmus.
Dr Alabi, a renowned business mogul and Chief Executive Officer Integrated Catering Company, brand owner of Promise Fast Food, described the death of the erudite scholar, which occurred on Friday, January 30, 2026, after a brief illness, as a painful and irreparable loss to the Islamic Ummah, the academic community, and society at large.
According to him, the late Professor Badmus was a towering intellectual whose life was wholly devoted to Islamic scholarship, moral instruction, and the mentoring of generations through knowledge, discipline, and upright conduct.
“Professor Badmus was not only a respected theologian but also a bridge-builder whose teachings emphasized peace, tolerance, humility, and steadfast faith, values that endeared him to both scholars and lay followers.
“Professor Badmus lived a life of purpose and service. His commitment to the propagation of Islamic teachings and character formation remains a lasting testament to his noble calling,”
While mourning his departure, the APC stalwart stressed that the legacies of the late scholar—his teachings, writings, and exemplary lifestyle—will continue to illuminate the path for future generations.
Dr Alabi extended his heartfelt condolences to Mai Martaba, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, the Emir of Ilorin, the immediate family of the deceased, the Ilorin Emirate, and the entire Muslim community in Kwara State, Nigeria, and beyond.
He prayed that Almighty Allah grants comfort to all those affected by the loss and admits the soul of Professor Badmus into Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
“As we reflect on his impactful life, I pray that Allah forgives his shortcomings, rewards his sacrifices, and ensures that his contributions to Islamic scholarship continue to inspire generations yet unborn,” Alabi added.
