Toyin Alabi Describes Late Gov. Cornelius Adebayo as Beacon of Integrity, Intellect at Wake-Keep

Renowned community leader and entrepreneur, Dr. Oluwatoyin Tajudeen Alabi, has paid glowing tribute to the late former Governor of Kwara State and elder statesman, Chief Cornelius Olatunji Adebayo, describing him as a beacon of integrity, intellect, and exemplary leadership.
Dr. Alabi, who was ably represented by Christie Doyin JP, joined dignitaries, political leaders, traditional rulers, and media professionals at the wake-keep ceremony held at the Kwara State Banquet Hall, Ilorin, in honour of the late governor’s impactful life and enduring legacy.
The solemn event drew an array of eminent personalities, including Senator Yahaya Oloriegbe, Sir Peter Olorunnisola, and former Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who came together to celebrate a man whose visionary leadership and contributions to education and governance helped shape the course of Kwara’s development.
Speaking through his representative, Christie Doyin, Dr. Alabi described Chief Adebayo as “a leader of rare moral strength, humility, and dedication to the common good.”

He noted that the late governor’s legacy of service and unwavering commitment to unity and progress would continue to serve as an enduring inspiration for public servants and community leaders across Nigeria.
Also in attendance were members of the Kwara State chapter of the National League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ), led by Alhaji Tunde Akanbi, who extolled Chief Adebayo’s virtues as a bridge-builder and statesman of exceptional character.
The ceremony featured hymns, tributes, and moments of reflection celebrating Chief Adebayo’s remarkable life of service, discipline, and humility.
Dr. Alabi extended his heartfelt condolences to the Adebayo family, praying that God grants them the strength to bear the loss and that the soul of the departed statesman finds eternal rest.
