Dangote Refinery National Pride, Say Youth Farmers as They Applaud FG’s Intervention

The Youth Farmers’ Organization for Agricultural Development in Nigeria has declared its support for the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, describing it as a vital national asset that must be protected at all costs.

In a statement jointly signed by the group’s National President, Abdulrahman Umar Etudaye, and Secretary-General, Ibrahim Abdulrazak Jeje, the farmers commended the Federal Government for swiftly resolving the crisis between the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG).

Speaking during an advocacy visit and facility tour of the refinery, Etudaye said, “The Dangote Refinery is a national pride and a strategic asset whose operations must not be halted for any reason. As young people, we are optimistic that with maximum support from all stakeholders, the refinery will drastically address the challenges of fuel scarcity, bring down the price of petroleum products, and ensure consistent availability across fuel stations nationwide.”

The farmers urged the government to remain firm against any attempt to undermine the operations of the refinery, warning that disruption could sabotage efforts to end the country’s prolonged fuel scarcity.

They noted that Nigerians look to the Dangote Refinery as a historic solution to years of hardship caused by fuel shortages. “We cannot afford to take lightly any group, union, or individual attempting to frustrate the laudable efforts of Dangote Industries Limited,” the statement added.
