Fulani In Kwara Appeal To Govt , Security Agencies To Stop Attack On Them By Vigilantee
Fulani Community in Kwara state on Mobday appealed to the state government and security agencies to urgently intervene on the attack on their members by vigilantee in some parts of the state.
The Chairman Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) Kwara state Chapter,Alhaji Shehu Garba made appeal in a statement issued to newsmen in Ilorin.
He alleged that a group of vigilantee in Kwara South are labeling their members who are on their legitimate business as bandits and attack them , adding that some loose their lives to the incident.
Garba explained that the fight against Banditry and other criminal activities is a task that must be supported by all to ensure it’s success in the state.
He noted that ethnic profiling of an ethnic nationality and attacking them without any justification would not help government efforts in ensuring peace and harmony in the society.
The Chairman also urged the traditional institution to discourage the attack on innocent people in their domains to ensure peace and security.
He called on the state government to urgently secure the vast forest and convert them into productive use in order to prevent the infiltration of bandits and other criminal elements from neighbouring state.
Garba commended the effort of the state government and security agencies in ensuring that the activities of criminal elements are reduced to the minimum in the state and the country in general.
