Kwara South Leaders Rally Behind Tinubu, Push for Unity and Future Development
Political and community leaders from Kwara South have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring him worthy of a second term and urging unity as the pathway to the district’s progress.
At the Kwara South Leaders’ Roundtable in Oro, Irepodun Local Government Area, prominent voices described Tinubu’s administration as a blessing that has given the region unprecedented recognition through key appointments at the federal level.
Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Oyelola Ashiru, said Kwara South has every reason to stand with Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“There will be a new Kwara South. You will see the changes yourself. If President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not making Nigeria a great nation, I will not remain in APC,” Ashiru declared.
He stressed that supporting Tinubu was beyond politics, adding, “We are saying this because we want Nigeria to be great. The President has recognized us and has done so much for us. The best thing any leader can stand on is the interest of his people.”
Ashiru also commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his impact on education, particularly in Kwara South, and encouraged him to seek higher responsibilities at the federal level in 2027.
Legal practitioner and community leader, Chief Abiodun Dada, underscored the importance of political harmony, saying, “Our elders say one tree cannot make a forest. In the same way, no single town or group can build the future of Kwara South alone. Unity is the very heartbeat of development.”
Dada hailed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor AbdulRazaq’s governance style, describing recent appointments such as the Minister of Justice, the Deputy Senate Leader, and the NNPCL GMD as signs of a brighter future for the region.
“Have we enjoyed political patronage like this before? The answer is no. This is a clear indication that Kwara South has a greater future in this dispensation,” he said, while urging stakeholders to prepare for 2027 with unity and vision.
Executive Secretary of the National Institute of Cultural Orientation, Otunba Abiodun Ajiboye, echoed the call for unity, noting that development can only thrive in an atmosphere of harmony. “Kwara South desires a platform for unity. Only when we are united can we think of development,” he said.
Former APC Chairman in the state, Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, also aligned with the resolutions, praising the leaders as “genuine, dedicated, courageous, progressive, forward-looking people of Kwara South” who have spoken with one voice in endorsing Tinubu for a second term.
