As insecurity continues to pose a serious challenge in parts of Kwara South Senatorial District, particularly Ifelodun Local Government Area, Dr. Oluwatoyin Alabi, respected community leader, entrepreneur, and Star Associate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has appealed to residents to remain calm, united, and vigilant.

In a statement signed by his Head of Media, Christie Doyin, Dr. Alabi described the recent surge in banditry, kidnapping, and violent incursions into farmlands as deeply troubling, but maintained that fear and disunity must not be allowed to weaken the people’s resolve.

“Our land must never be surrendered to fear. The resilience of our people is greater than the threats we face,” he declared.

Dr. Alabi commended Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for making security a top priority, while also assuring residents that federal security agencies are intensifying efforts to secure forests, clear criminal hideouts, and safeguard highways.

He equally applauded traditional rulers for partnering with government and security institutions to strengthen community-based solutions.

He further addressed the concerns of youths who have expressed growing frustration over the worsening insecurity, cautioning against protests that could be exploited by enemies of peace.

“Youth must rise as defenders of our heritage, not instruments of disruption. True protest lies in vigilance, guarding your neighbor’s home, sharing intelligence with authorities, and refusing to shield those who aid bandits,” he urged.

Dr. Alabi stressed that only through unity, courage, and collaboration can the people of Kwara South overcome the threats to their peace and security.
