Kwara Govt Trains Firefighters to Boost Emergency Response Capacity

In a move to enhance the efficiency of emergency response services in Kwara State, the Office of the Head of Service has organized a two-day intensive workshop on fire prevention and firefighting for fire officers across various grade levels in the state civil service.

The workshop, held in collaboration with Unander Nigeria Limited, was aimed at equipping officers with practical knowledge and techniques on how to prevent and combat fire outbreaks.

Speaking at the training session, Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John, underscored the importance of regular training for fire personnel. He said the workshop was a reflection of the state government’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

“This training is not just timely, it is essential. It shows that the government is not waiting for disasters to happen before taking action. We are being prepared ahead of time,” he said.

Prince Falade expressed gratitude to the Kwara State Government for its continued support and approval of capacity-building programmes, adding that the gesture would go a long way in boosting the morale and efficiency of fire officers in the state.

The workshop featured both senior and junior officers of the Fire Service and focused on building their capacity to respond more swiftly and effectively to fire emergencies.
