Governor Dapo Abiodun has announced the renaming of Tai Solarin College of Education to Oba Sikiru Adetona College of Science and Technology.

The college was initially named after the late Nigerian educator, social critic, philanthropist, and founder of Mayflower School in Ikenne, also in Ogun State,.

The announcement was made during the 8th Day Fidau prayer held in honour of the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, GCON.

The governor said the change is in recognition of the monarch’s enduring legacy and contributions to education and national development.

Oba Sikiru Adetona, who passed away recently, was described by the governor as “a symbol of progress” whose memory deserves to be immortalized.
