Kwara Govt Reaffirms Security Commitment as Deputy Governor Visits Civil Defence Command

The Kwara State Government has restated its unwavering support for security agencies in the state, with the Deputy Governor, Elder Kayode Alabi, paying a visit to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Command in Ilorin on Tuesday.

The visit, coming months after Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s historic stopover at the NSCDC office, is seen as a continuation of the administration’s recognition of the agency’s vital role in maintaining peace and protecting infrastructure in the state.

During the visit, the Deputy Governor commended the officers and men of the corps for their professionalism and commitment to duty.

He noted that the NSCDC has contributed significantly to the relative peace being enjoyed across the state.

“We are aware of your sacrifices and the discipline with which you carry out your duties. Your presence is being felt positively, and the government appreciates your efforts. I urge you to continue to work with courage and remain focused in rooting out criminal elements from our communities,” Alabi said.

In his remarks, the NSCDC State Commandant, Umar J.G. Mohammed, described the Deputy Governor’s visit as a great morale booster for the command.

He assured the state government of the corps’ readiness to collaborate with sister agencies to ensure a safe environment for all residents.

“The visit is a clear message that the government values our contributions to security. We remain committed to protecting lives and critical national assets across the state,” Mohammed stated.

The NSCDC continues to play a key role in local security arrangements, particularly in safeguarding public utilities, conflict resolution, and crisis response across Kwara’s 16 local government areas.
