Israel, Iran Continue Attacks on Major Facilites and Civilian Areas
Over the past two hours, Israeli Air Force jets have launched more than 100 precision strikes on various targets across Tehran, the IDF reports, while Iran was also responding almost immediately across Israel cities.
Among the sites hit was the Thar-Allah Headquarters, a central command of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) charged with defending the capital against both external and internal threats.
Also targeted was the Sayyid al-Shuhada Corps, another IRGC unit, which the IDF says plays a key role in domestic security operations, including quelling protests and maintaining regime control.
Additional strikes focused on the information security division of Iran’s internal security forces, a unit responsible for overseeing internal surveillance, monitoring personnel, and controlling communications within the organization.
The Israeli Air Force also launched a wave of airstrikes targeting key facilities of Iran’s internal security forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Tehran.
The targets included command centers and operational assets tied to forces responsible for defending the regime, quelling internal dissent, and upholding Iran’s domestic control apparatus.
Among the sites hit was the Basij headquarters in Tehran, a major pillar of the IRGC’s influence, tasked with enforcing religious laws and reporting civilian violations.
Strikes also damaged the Alborz Corps, which oversees security across cities in Tehran Province, as well as branches of Iran’s intelligence and general security police.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz added that warplanes also struck the symbolic “Destruction of Israel” clock in Palestine Square, a monument installed in 2017 to count down to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s predicted end of the Jewish state by 2040.
Israeli forces reportedly carried out an airstrike on Tehran’s infamous Evin Prison moments ago, according to Iranian sources.
Opposition outlet Iran International claims the strike targeted the main gate of the facility, possibly to enable a prisoner breakout.
Unverified footage shared online appears to capture the moment of the attack.
Evin Prison is a high-security detention center notorious for holding political detainees, journalists, scholars, and human rights advocates.
Meanwhile, Iran also continued and responded with its ballistic missiles across Israel cities simultaneously.
A footage shows an Iranian ballistic missile striking mere meters away from vehicles who failed to listen to guidelines and take shelter on the road in Israel.
An Iranian ballistic missile hit Haifa and struck a public square in a residential neighborhood, lightly injuring three people, one of whom was close to the impact site.
A joint review by the Home Front Command and the Israeli Air Force revealed a “technical failure” in the detection systems, which led to the missile going unnoticed. As a result, no sirens were activated and no interceptors were launched in time to stop it.
Although an early alert was issued through the cell broadcast system, allowing residents to take cover, the investigation found that the warhead separated mid-flight.
Only the rear section of the missile was tracked and targeted by interceptors, while the actual warhead evaded detection and ultimately struck the city.
The type of missile used was consistent with others Iran has fired during the ongoing conflict.
