Israel Reduces Troops in Gaza Strip, Reinforces Security at Egypt, Jordan, Syria Borders

As the conflict with Iran intensifies, the IDF has reduced its troop presence in the Gaza Strip and reinforced its deployments along Israel’s borders with Egypt and Jordan.

Currently, four IDF divisions remain active in Gaza. The elite 98th Division—comprised of paratroopers and special forces—was withdrawn from Khan Younis and redeployed as the Iranian front escalated.

Despite this drawdown, tens of thousands of Israeli troops continue operations inside Gaza.

Throughout the ongoing conflict, the IDF has maintained pressure on Hamas by targeting operatives, dismantling terror infrastructure such as tunnels, and strengthening defensive positions along the Gaza border.

On the eastern front, the IDF has significantly increased its presence along the Jordanian border—tripling its usual force level.

The newly established 96th “Gilad” Division has been stationed in the northern section, while the 80th “Edom” Division is now reinforcing the southern region. The 80th Division is also responsible for enhancing security along the Egyptian border.

Meanwhile, in northern Israel, the IDF continues to guard against possible attacks from Hezbollah in Lebanon and hostile elements in Syria.(JBN)
