Kwara to Host Historic NACCIMA AGM

The Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KWACCIMA) has announced its preparedness to host the 65th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), slated to hold in Ilorin from June 17 to 19, 2025.

Speaking at a press conference in Ilorin, the Chairman of the Local Organising Steering Committee, Engr. Abu Salami, disclosed that the three-day event, tagged Harmony 2025, will not only feature business deliberations but will also witness the formal investiture of Engr. Jani Ibrahim as the new NACCIMA President.

“This is a significant moment for us in Kwara. For the first time since NACCIMA was established in 1960, a citizen of our state, Alhaji Jani Ibrahim, will be assuming the presidency. It is a proud moment for the people of Kwara,” Salami stated.

He highlighted that the AGM would attract top dignitaries from across Nigeria, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar; Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN); the outgoing NACCIMA President, Chief Dele Oye; as well as presidents and directors of chambers from across the federation.

Engr. Salami outlined the planned activities for the event, which include a golf tournament, corporate visits, cultural night, meetings with key government and traditional leaders, and a grand investiture dinner.

“We have taken all necessary steps to ensure a smooth and memorable event—security, accommodation, transportation and hospitality have been well considered,” he assured.

The programme begins on June 17 with a golf tournament, followed by visits to selected companies and a welcome dinner. On June 18, the itinerary includes meetings with the Governor of Kwara State, the Emir of Ilorin, and visits to the Kwara Innovation Hub, culminating in the AGM and executive sessions.

The grand finale on June 19 will feature the annual conference and the formal investiture of the new president.

Salami also called on the media to support the event, noting that their involvement would be crucial in amplifying the economic and developmental prospects of both Kwara State and Nigeria at large.

“This is not just an event; it is an opportunity to reposition Kwara on the national business map. We welcome all stakeholders to join us in this journey,” he added.
