Eid Message: Ajia Greets Emir of Ilorin, Urges Leaders to Address Nigeria’s Economic Hardship

Businessman and politician, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, has extended warm Sallah greetings to the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, as well as the people of Kwara State and Muslims across Nigeria, urging political leaders to take urgent steps to address the country’s growing economic challenges.

In a statement issued through his Director of Communications, Malam Abdulrahman Aliagan, Ajia noted that Eid-el-Kabir is a moment of deep reflection on the values of sacrifice, obedience and compassion as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS). He stressed that such values are particularly needed in Nigeria today.

“Our country is grappling with serious challenges—from inflation and joblessness to insecurity. It is time for leaders to embrace empathy and take bold, people-centred decisions that can reduce the suffering of everyday Nigerians,” he stated.

Ajia called on Nigerians to look beyond the festivities and use the moment to pray for peace and unity in the country. He also encouraged citizens to remain hopeful, noting that commitment to national values can lead to long-term progress.

While addressing Nigerian youth, he appealed for unity, resilience and patriotism, saying their energy and innovation are essential for the country’s future.

“The youth must reject all forms of division and channel their creativity toward building a better Nigeria. The future belongs to them, and the country needs their contributions now more than ever,” he said.

Ajia concluded with a prayerful message, asking for divine guidance for both leaders and citizens and for the peace and prosperity of Nigeria.

“I wish all Muslims a peaceful and spiritually uplifting Eid-el-Kabir. Eid Mubarak to everyone,” he said.
