Obbo-Ile Traditional Ruler Hails Governor AbdulRazaq’s Achievements, Urges More Rural Development

The Owalobbo of Obbo-Ile, Oba Rufus Adebayo, has commended Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his impactful leadership and development-focused governance, while appealing for more amenities to be extended to rural communities like Obbo-Ile.

Speaking through the President of the Obbo-Ile Descendants Union (ODU), Comrade John Fashikun, the monarch congratulated the Governor on the second anniversary of his second term in office, describing him as a humble and result-driven leader.

“Our governor is a performer and a man of his word. The completion of the twelve signature projects he embarked on is a testament to his results-oriented approach,” Oba Adebayo remarked.

He applauded the Governor’s strides in improving road infrastructure, healthcare, and education, noting that these efforts have not only enhanced the well-being of the people but also stimulated economic growth across the state.

While reaffirming the support of the Obbo-Ile community for the AbdulRazaq-led administration, the monarch reminded the government of previously submitted requests between 2020 and 2023. These include the provision of medical facilities, renovation and equipping of public schools, and the reactivation of the town’s water system.

He emphasized that reviving the water supply is a pressing need, stressing that women and children currently endure long treks to access clean water.

“We are grateful for the progress so far, but we still need the government to fulfill these outstanding needs. It will go a long way in easing the burdens of our people,” he appealed.

Oba Adebayo assured the Governor of the continued support of the Obbo-Ile community and urged him to remain steadfast in his commitment to rural development across the state.
