Kwara CAN appreciates Gov Abdulrazaq for his support and welfarist gesture
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kwara State Chapter under the esteemed leadership of Bishop STG Adewole, has sincerely appreciated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for his generous provision of 10,000 bags of 5kg Semovita.
The Association in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Bishop STG Adewole and Secretary, Barrister Shina Ibiyemi thanked the governor, who also doubles as the Chairman, Nigerian Governors’ Forum and the Waziri Ngari of Ilorin, for his generosity and kindness.
The association noted that the food items were graciously distributed across the length and breadth of Kwara State, reaching major stakeholders.
CAN described as a huge success this year’s Palm Sunday procession across the State attributing it largely to the support received from the State government under the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRasaq and all stakeholders.
Speaking at the flag-off of the rally, the CAN Chairman expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of Christians in Kwara State, and urged everyone to continually pray for the Governor’s life, health, and progressive administration.
Representing the Governor, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Religion Christian Matters, Reverend Timothy Oluwagbemiga Akangbe reaffirmed the Governor’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people and encouraged the faithful to support the administration in prayers.
The Governor charged the people to work for the progress and oneness of the Nation at all times and called for the support and prayers of the people for the success of the present administration at all levels.
The CAN Chairman also appreciated the large turn out of Christians in the yearly procession which lasted over five hours and passed through Muritala road, Maraba, Amilegbe, Ipata, Opo-Malu, part of Emir`s road, Taiwo road, Unity road, Muritala Mohammed way, Post Office and terminated at the starting point for benediction.
Another batch of Christians took off at First Baptist Church, Surulere through the State General Hospital, Upper Taiwo road and link up with other Christians at Unity junction for onward movement to Saint Barnabas Cathedral, Sabo-Oke.
Bishop Adewole called on Christians to be humble, embrace peace and love themselves and their neighbours as demonstrated by Jesus Christ who rode on a colt.
Bishop Adewole urged Nigerians to be alive to their responsibilities and renewed their faith to serve God wholeheartedly.

Professor Evangelist T.O. Opoola, Chairman, Kwara State Christian Welfare Pilgrims Board, the Pioneer Secretary of CAN in Kwara State, Pa Olusola Ajolore, Pa D. B. Akinyemi, One-time CAN Secretary, Rev COS Fawenu, Primate Martins Olobatoke, Venerable Thomas Adeboye (OAIC Head of Bloc), Heads of various denominations,
Local Government Coordinators and numerous well-wishers.
The CAN Chairman further appreciated all donors and security personnel whose support and presence ensured a successful and well-secured rally.
He specifically extended appreciation to the Kwara State Government, CEO, Tuyil Pharmaceuticals, Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Ilorin District Headquarters, CEO, SEAP, Leah Foundation, Kwara State House of Assembly Christian Caucus, Radio Kwara, Diamond FM, CEO Peace Pharmaceuticals, Eletu Foundation, One Step Pharmacy, Distinguished Senator Saliu Mustapha and Heritage Water.
Others are Hi Merit Water, Rev. (Mrs) Olobatoke, Prophetess Bosede Adimabua, Mrs Ashonibare Permanent Secretary, ECWA Fate-Tanke, Mrs Rosemary Isah, Kwara State Police Command, Department of State Services (DSS), Kwara State, NSCDC, Kwara State Command, KWARTMA and Saint Barnabas Cathedral.
The rally also featured special prayer for the Governor and all donors led by Rev. Adepoju of CPFN/PFN Bloc.
The Association equally prayed that God will continue to bless and uphold our leaders, donors, security personnel, and the good people of Kwara State.
