AbdulRazaq’s Leadership Reshaping Kwara, Says Don

Professor Saudat AbdulBaqi has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for driving unprecedented development in Kwara State, describing his leadership as transformative and inclusive.

Speaking at a personality lecture held in Ilorin in the governor’s honour, AbdulBaqi noted that Kwara had long struggled with infrastructure deficits but is now witnessing a turnaround under AbdulRazaq’s administration.

She highlighted improvements in road construction, urban renewal, waste management, and workers’ welfare as key achievements.

“Kwara was lagging behind, but this administration has rewritten the narrative. The transformation of roads, urban renewal projects, improved waste management, and commitment to workers’ welfare are remarkable,” she said.

The event, organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State Council, and sponsored by NNPCL’s Non-Executive Director, Dr. Muhammed Gali Alaya, attracted political figures, legal experts, journalists, and APC leaders.

AbdulBaqi also praised the governor’s approach to governance, noting that he has given every segment of society a sense of belonging.

“Men and women, young and old, people with and without disabilities all have a place in this government,” she added.

She further commended AbdulRazaq’s financial prudence, particularly in managing the state’s debt and boosting revenue.

“He inherited abandoned projects but completed them instead of turning Kwara into a graveyard of uncompleted works,” she said, urging continuity in governance beyond 2027.

Representing the governor, Senior Adviser and Counselor Alhaji Saadu Salahu thanked the NUJ for recognizing the administration’s strides and assured that the government remains committed to sustainable development.

Former Grand Kadi, Justice Salihu Olohuntoyin Muhammed, acknowledged AbdulRazaq’s quiet but impactful achievements, citing the recent approval of full gratuity payments to retired judges and Kadis as an example.

Engineer Abdulrahman Giwa, who chaired the event, described the governor as a “silent achiever” whose projects speak for themselves. NUJ Chairman Ahmed Lanre Abdullateef added that the event was not just about celebrating achievements but also setting an agenda for leadership ahead of the 2027 elections.
