Trump Signs Executive Order to Intensify Pressure on Iran, Warns Iran of “Total Obliteration” if Assassinated

President Donald Trump has signed an executive order reinstating the “maximum pressure” campaign against Iran, aiming to eliminate the country’s oil exports and prevent it from developing nuclear weapons.

The directive instructs the U.S. Treasury Department to enforce stringent sanctions and compliance measures against entities violating existing restrictions.

In a related statement, Trump revealed that he has left explicit instructions for the “total obliteration” of Iran should any assassination attempt against him succeed.

This pronouncement follows U.S. intelligence reports indicating that Iran has previously plotted to assassinate Trump, potentially in retaliation for the 2020 killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.

Despite these measures, Trump expressed openness to dialogue with Iranian leadership, emphasizing that while the U.S. must remain firm, there is hope that the stringent sanctions will not need to be extensively utilized.
