Kwara Govt Restates Commitment to Quality, Affordable Healthcare Services
The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its dedication to providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare services to residents across the state.
This assurance was given by the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH), Dr. Bola Ahmed AbdulKadir, during a courtesy visit by the National President of the Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), Professor Muhammad Aminu Muhammad, and his team.
Speaking at the event, Dr. AbdulKadir commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration for its transformative efforts in the healthcare sector.
“The present administration has made the provision of adequate, quality, and affordable healthcare services to Kwarans a top priority.
The government has also created an enabling environment for medical and other health professionals to thrive,” he said.
The CMD highlighted the significance of upgrading the Kwara State General Hospital to the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital, describing it as a pivotal achievement in advancing medical education and healthcare delivery, not only in Kwara State but also across Nigeria.
He further revealed the state government’s comprehensive renovations of healthcare facilities across the state’s 16 local government areas, equipping them with modern medical equipment to enhance service delivery.
“This administration has also prioritized the welfare of healthcare workers by organizing capacity-building programs and training sessions for doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to enhance their skills,” Dr. AbdulKadir added.
Expressing gratitude to the MDCAN National President for the visit, the CMD reaffirmed KWASUTH’s readiness to collaborate with the association to improve medical education and healthcare services in Kwara State.
In his remarks, Professor Muhammad Aminu Muhammad lauded Governor AbdulRazaq’s commitment to healthcare delivery, despite the administration’s focus on other developmental projects.
“Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s dedication to quality and affordable healthcare, alongside other impactful projects across the state, demonstrates his visionary leadership and commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to the electorate,” he stated.
The MDCAN president also called for improved welfare packages for healthcare workers to boost their performance and pledged the association’s readiness to collaborate with the state government in achieving shared healthcare goals.
