Yusuf Umar Danshitta Emerges National President of KWASU Alumni Association

 

Yusuf Umar Danshitta has been elected as the National President of the Kwara State University (KWASU) Alumni Association in an election held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the KWASU Business School.

According to a report signed by the Chairman of the 2024 KWASU Alumni Electoral Committee, Abdulkadir Olayinka Abdulbaki, Danshitta, who is from the Department of Library and Information Science, secured 33 votes to clinch the presidency.

Other members of the newly elected executive council include Samuel Oluwatoyin Taiwo as Vice President (South), Abdulwasiu Damilare Alabi as National General Secretary, Tajudeen Olaoluwa Adeleye as Financial Secretary, Jesutofunmi Adewoye as National Treasurer, and Abimbola Abdulhameed Babajide as National Social Secretary. Felicity Onize Ifashe and Abdulazeez Abbas Olayinka were also elected as National Legal Adviser and Assistant General Secretary, respectively.

In his statement, Abdulbaki commended the smooth and efficient conduct of the election process, emphasizing that all stakeholders adhered strictly to the established guidelines.

“The election was conducted seamlessly, and the participation of alumni members showcased the unity and commitment of the KWASU Alumni Association,” he said.

The chairman congratulated the newly elected officers and expressed appreciation to all alumni members who actively took part in the process, highlighting their dedication to strengthening the association’s mission.
