Iran Offers Nordic Children €1,500 Bounties for Israeli Hits
Iran is reportedly recruiting children as young as 13 in Nordic countries to attack Israeli targets, offering payments starting at €1,500 for killings.
Swedish authorities have documented incidents, including a 15-year-old attempting to reach the Israeli embassy with a loaded gun, and a 13-year-old shooting at a building housing Israeli defense firm Elbit Systems.
These actions are linked to Iranian operatives using social media platforms to reach young recruits.
Swedish authorities have documented a string of attacks this year perpetrated by children. In one incident, a 15-year-old boy carrying a loaded gun hailed a taxi outside Stockholm and attempted to reach the Israeli embassy.
Thankfully his movements were being tracked by police who intercepted the cab before it reached its destination.
Over the fall, a 13-year-old fired shots at a Gothenburg building housing Israeli defense firm Elbit Systems. The same facility was later targeted when a 16-year-old, working with a 23-year-old accomplice, planted homemade explosives fashioned from vacuum flasks outside the main entrance.
All three attacks have been traced back to Iran.
Since Hamas launched its massacre against Israel 14 months ago, Iranian operatives have stepped up their efforts to reach out to young victims through popular social media platforms like Telegram, TikTok, and WhatsApp.
Nordic law enforcement officials note that while some young recruits are motivated by anger over civilian casualties in Gaza, others are simply lured by money.
According to the Iranian offers seen by Bloomberg, prices start from about €1,500 for a murder while a petrol bomb attack can earn a young terrorist €120.
Most troublingly, many of these young perpetrators don’t understand they’re operating as agents of a foreign power, creating a shadow network of unwitting terror proxies for Tehran’s regional ambitions.
In response, Norway temporarily raised its terror alert level from medium to high and established stricer border controls with Sweden.
Meanwhile, Swedish authorities have introduced youth prisons for children under 15, a response championed by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s government with support from the far-right Sweden Democrats. (JBN)
