Kwara Govt Reiterates Commitment to Accessible and Impactful Education

 

The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to making education accessible, relevant, and impactful for the people of the state.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq stated this during the 12th convocation ceremony of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, in Moro Local Government Area. Represented by the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Mary Arinde, the governor said his administration remains dedicated to investing in education to drive socio-economic development.

“We have put in place measures to make education accessible, relevant, and impactful to the people of the state,” AbdulRazaq said.

The governor commended the university’s management for maintaining a smooth academic calendar and ensuring peace in the community.

He also urged the graduating students to leverage the skills they have acquired to contribute meaningfully to society.

The Vice-Chancellor of KWASU, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, disclosed that a total of 6,891 degrees will be awarded during the 2023/2024 academic session.

He encouraged the graduands to utilize their knowledge for personal growth and societal development.

In his address, the Chancellor of KWASU, Dr. Johnson Akinwumi, highlighted the institution’s focus on infrastructure and academic development.

He appreciated the state government’s support, particularly for the timely establishment of additional campuses in Osi and Ilesha Baruba, and thanked Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for its contributions to infrastructure development.

The Pro-Chancellor, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali, lauded the efforts to advance the university’s growth and urged parents to continue supporting their children to help them achieve their dreams.

The convocation ceremony marked another milestone in KWASU’s commitment to academic excellence and societal impact.
