Mass Casualty Incident Declared After Terrorist Attack In Israel
A mass casualty incident has been declared in the south of Herzliya following a terrorist attack.
The mass casualty incident was declared by Magen David Adom, saying that tens of Israelis have been wounded.
He reports of shooting at the entrance to an IDF base at the Glilot Junction near Herzliya, Israel. The driver of a truck, who had rammed a truck into a bus stop appears to have been shot.
After ramming a bus-stop outside South Herzliya at a sensitive security base in Glilot the driver exited the truck with a knife and was shot by armed bystanders.
Due to the nature of the incident Home Front Command rescue teams have been deployed to help free victims trapped under the truck.
MDA helicopters and tens of ambulances are evacuating the wounded.
Three sensitive security bases are located near the site of the suspected terror attack.
Israeli Police is asking the public to avoid the area.
An image from the site of the truck-ramming in the Glilot area shows the aftermath, with approximately 40 people injured, including 10 in serious condition.
Magen David Adom reports that it has transported 35 individuals to hospitals after the truck-ramming incident near the Glilot Base.
Among the injured are six in serious condition, five with moderate injuries, 20 with minor injuries, and four experiencing severe anxiety, according to MDA.
A significant number of those affected are retirees who had just gotten off a coach at a bus stop, preparing for a visit to a nearby museum.
Meanwhile, within 24 hours, the IIDF said it had eliminated both the Hezbollah commander of the Bint Jbeil region and his successor.
On Friday, fighter jets targeted and killed Ahmad Jaafar Matouq, Hezbollah’s commander for the Lebanese border village of Bint Jbeil.
The following day, another airstrike reportedly killed Matouq’s successor along with the commander of Hezbollah’s artillery forces in the region.
