The Association of Resident Doctors, Kwara State University Teaching Hospital, Ilorin (ARD- KWASUTH), has commended Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara for the payment of the 2024 Medical Residency Training fund (MRTF).
The commendation was issued on Sunday, in a statement jointly signed by Dr Usman Abubakar, the President and Dr. Audu Jiya, the General Secretary, of the Association.
They expressed joy that MRTF will go along way to support the Resident Doctors working under Kwara.
“This gesture further convinces us that health is indeed one of your major priorities areas for the people of Kwara.
“We are happy KWASUTH is taking shape to take up the challenge of providing quality healthcare to the people of State.
“In return, the doctors in KWASUTH are ready to provide these excellent services,” they said.
The association appealed to AbdulRazaq to resolve the challenge of shortage of manpower with the hospital facility.
“We know shortage of health workers is now a national crisis but that of KWASUTH has now reached an alarming threshold.
“However, we believe with you piloting the affairs of the state, we know that this particular challenge will soon be a thing of the past,” they said.
