A secretive nuclear-linked facility was hit in Israel’s airstrike against Iran on Saturday.

According to The New York Times, citing two unnamed Iranian officials, Israeli drones targeted the Parchin military base on the outskirts of Tehran during the overnight operation.

While the specific target at Parchin remains unconfirmed, Iranian officials reported that one of the drones successfully struck the site while others were intercepted.

The Parchin complex has long been a focus of international concern, with Israel consistently asserting that Iran conducts nuclear weapons-related activities there.

These claims gained credibility in 2016 when the UN’s IAEA nuclear watchdog discovered evidence of nuclear weapons-related activity at the site.

Sources tell Axios that Israel warned Iran through multiple diplomatic channels  before launching its retaliatory strikes, making clear which targets would be hit and urging Tehran not to respond.

However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office has since denied these allegations, calling them “false and absurd.”

“Israel did not notify Iran before the attack — not about the timing, not about the targets, and not about the scale of the attack.”

For its part, Iran has vowed revenge against Israel’s airstrikes.

“Israel must pay for violating Iran’s territorial integrity. Iran’s response will be carried out at the best time, considering all aspects and in line with national interests. We advise the Zionists to practice living in shelters,” warned IRGC General Esmaeil Kowsari, as cited by Iran International.

Amir-Hossein Sabeti, the ultra-conservative MP for Tehran, similarly warned on X “Stable security depends on authority and a strong response to the smallest mistake of the enemy.

Although the Israelis’ mountain gave birth to a mouse, the violation of Iran’s red line and the invasion of the country’s territory must be answered at a level that will surprise them.

“The best time to respond is when they are engaged in an attritional war in Gaza and Beirut.” (JBN)
