Cleric Urges Nigerians to Praise God Amid National Challenges

Nigerians have been urged to consistently praise God, irrespective of the challenges facing the nation, in a message emphasizing obedience to divine commandments.

This call was made by Reverend Cornelius Fawenu, the former Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kwara State, during his sermon marking the twentieth anniversary of the Organization of African Instituted Churches (OAIC) Youth Wing in Kwara State.

The event, themed “Living a Life of Praise,” was held at the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Ilorin District Headquarters.

In his address, Reverend Fawenu stated, “Man must always think positively to be able to praise God.”

He underscored that praising God is a fundamental demand of faith, and no one can question God’s deeds or decisions, reinforcing the necessity of adherence to His commands.

Pastor Moses Ademola Popoola, the Chairman of the OAIC State Chapter and Vice Chairman of CAN in Kwara State, reflected on the historical context of famine, reminding attendees that such hardships are not new.

He charged the youth to cultivate a deep relationship with God, remain diligent, and maintain persistence in their faith.

He also advised against shying away from agriculture, asserting that, “God alone owns the solution to all challenges being faced in the country,”

Pastor Popoola urged Nigerians to place their trust in divine power rather than solely relying on political leaders.

The cleric encouraged the congregation to remain determined and focused on God, advocating for prayer as a means to navigate the current national difficulties.

Additionally, Pastor Gbolahan Oyedunmola, the OAIC State Youth Director, encouraged young people to engage in God’s work and embody godly principles in their daily lives.

He praised the contributions of individuals who have supported the growth and development of OAIC since its establishment in 2004 and called for ongoing revival among the youth.

As part of the celebrations, awards were presented to distinguished members and former office holders of the OAIC Youth Wing, recognizing their dedication and service.
