President Tinubu Shelves Plan To Attend 79th UNGA In US
Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has shelved plans to attend the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States.
The President, according to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), has directed the Vice President Kashim Shettima to lead Nigeria’s delegation.
The President was billed to lead the Nigeria’s delegate to the assembly after his trips to China and the United Kingdom. He had told the people of Borno during his visit to the state to commiserate with them on the devastating flood in the state that he had to spare the time to visit though he was on his way to the US for UNGA.
But the statement said the President decided to focus on domestic issues and address some of the country’s challenges, especially after the recent devastating flooding.
