FOMWAN Trains 97 Youths in Kwara on Spirituality, Moral Guidance

The Federation of the Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) have trained 97 youths from across the 16 Local Government Area of Kwara on spiritual and moral guidance.
Speaking at the Step Down of FOMWAN Annual Zonal Youth Camp, in Ilorin, the Chief lmam of Kwara State University (KWASU) Malete, Prof. Hamzat AbdulRaheem, called on parents to inculcate moral values on their children to make them useful in the society.
The Chief Imam spoke on the topic entitled: “Quran As Compass”.
AbdulRaheem, who was the Immediate Past Dean, School of Post Graduate of KWASU, observed that the programme is crucial, as trains girls on values and God-consciousness.
According to him, the girl-child are the future mothers of the society and there is need for them to be enlightened and well informed on what is expected of them as good citizens of the nation.
“We expect that women in our society should brace up. They should put the fear of Allah in the way they think, behave and act.
“The society expect more from them and they should not disappoint their communities,” he said.
Also speaking, Dr. Mahmud Danjuma, a cleric and Guest Lecturer of the Occasion, enjoined the youths to follow the teachings of the Holy Quran,.as thought by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Danjuma advised them to apply what is being learnt in their personal lives and also in contributing positively to their communities and the society at large.
He emphasized on the role of the Quran in shaping moral values, decision making, and leadership.
The cleric likened the Quran to a compass, which provides direction and clarity in a world filled with distractions and uncertainties.
Speaking earlier, Naibat Amerah of FOMWAN, Hajia Bilkis Oladimeji urged the youth to always have mentor to look upon them in achieving their future goals.
Oladimeji explained that FOMWAN aimed at inspiring and equiping young girls to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to the society. (NAN)
