Shettima Condoles Gov. Mohammed Over Death of Emir
Vice President Kashim-Shettima, on Friday, condoled with Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state over the death of the Emir of Ningi, Alh. Yunusa Danyaya.
Shettima, who expressed the deepest condolences of the federal government while on a condolence visit to the state governor, also condoled with the people of Ningi Emirate as well as the people of Bauchi state as a whole.
According to him, the late Emir lived the life of service and fulfillment who had served Nigeria in various capacities before ascending to the throne as the 15th Emir of Ningi Emirate.
He, however, congratulated the newly appointed 16th Emir, Alhaji Haruna Danyaya for ascending to his father’s throne.
“You have big shoes to wear and I have no doubt that you will build on your father’s legacy to move the Ningi Emirate as well as the whole state forward,” he said.
The VP added that the governor’s approval of the newly appointed Emir by the kingmakers was a testament of his love for the people of the Ningi Emirate and the state at large.
He assured the people of Bauchi state of the federal government’s continued support, saying “our doors are always open for guidance, advice and any other things to move the Emirate and the state forward.
In his address, governor Mohammed appreciated the Vice President and the federal government for the visit.
“On behalf of myself, the people of Ningi Emirate and Bauchi state at large hereby express our gratitude for this visit.
“With you coming down here today has shown that you have always respected every segment of the country. We are sincerely grateful,” he said.
Responding, the newly Emir of Ningi, Alh. Haruna Danyaya, also appreciated the Vice President for the visit and promised to live up to the expectation of the people of the state.
