Ronaldo, Buffon Honoured with UEFA Awards
Cristiano Ronaldo and Gianluigi Buffon were bestowed with prestigious awards by UEFA at the Champions League draw ceremony in Monaco on Thursday evening.
Ronaldo received a special award for his remarkable legacy as the all-time leading goal scorer in the Champions League, while Buffon was presented with the 2024 UEFA President’s Award.
Ronaldo’s unparalleled achievements in the UEFA Champions League, including his 140 goals across 183 appearances, have redefined the competition’s history. “This award is a recognition of my hard work and dedication to the sport,” Ronaldo said.
The UEFA President, Aleksander Čeferin, presented the awards to the duo. “Ronaldo and Buffon are two of the greatest players in European football history, and it is an honour to recognize their achievements,” Čeferin said.
Buffon, a former Italy goalkeeper, was honored for his contributions to the sport. “I am humbled to receive this award, and I am grateful for the recognition,” Buffon said.
