The acting Governor of Oyo State Bayo Lawal, has advised local government chairmen to curb insecurity in their respective domains by synergising efforts.
Lawal gave advice on Thursday at the inauguration of the Kajola Ultra-Modern Market in Ogbomoso town.
He charged the chairmen to work hand-in-hand with the state government to secure their domains.
He says such synergy will be against criminal-minded individuals in their respective domains.
The Acting Governor advised market leaders, traders and other stakeholders to be security conscious.
He charged them to be observant about happenings in their environment. This is to prevent an influx of miscreants into the state through the markets.
The acting governor assured Seyi Makinde’s administration would rejuvenate the market system in urban and rural communities across the state with modern facilities.
According to him, the decision to rejuvenate the market system is part of the government’s determination to promote development.
He reiterated the administration’s commitment towards improving the living standards of residents of the state.
Lawal said the new ultra-modern market would contribute to the economic development of Ogbomosoland.
The Chairman of Ogbomoso South Local Government Area, Mr Timothy Oyedokun, assured that occupants of the old demolished market would be considered first for the new shops.
Oyedokun appreciated Makinde for fulfilling his promises and delivering democracy’s dividends through the construction of the market.
