IDF combat engineers demolished 700-meter-long Hamas tunnel

 

IDF combat engineers have demolished a 700-meter-long Hamas tunnel on the outskirts of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza. The tunnel was located and destroyed by the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit and the 603rd Combat Engineering Battalion.

Also earlier today, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant met with U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Charles Q. Brown, Jr., and IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi to discuss escalating threats and enhance strategic cooperation.

Gallant highlighted Iran’s increasingly aggressive actions, describing them as unprecedented, and emphasized the importance of advancing joint capabilities between Israel and the U.S. across all theaters of war.

Gallant’s office characterized the meeting as a “strategic discussion” in the context of the ongoing conflict.

The defense minister stressed Iran’s persistent pursuit of nuclear weapons and the critical need for Israel and the U.S. to remain prepared at all times to prevent Iran from acquiring military nuclear capabilities.

“Iran’s aggression has reached an all-time high. To counter this, we must work together to achieve and project groundbreaking capabilities across all arenas,” Gallant stated.

Also, the IDF was reported  investigating a kidnapping in Judea & Samaria. A significant number of troops have been deployed, and several roads are being blocked.

Initial reports indicate that a car with a possibly kidnapped individual passed by the Tapuach Junction, with the person reportedly calling for help.

The investigation is ongoing.
