APC hails Uzodimma’s re-election victory, says Supreme Court vindicated party

The All Progressives Congress {APC) has hailed affirmation of Gov. Hope Uzodimma re-election victory by the Supreme Court as indication of the overwhelming support of Imo residents to the party.

“The Supreme Court has vindicated the deep love and strong support from vast majority of people of Imo State to our great party,” Chief Emma Eneukwu, Deputy National Chairman APC (South), told newsmen in Enugu after the apex court affirmation on Friday.

It would be recalled that the Supreme Court earlier on Friday, affirmed the re-election of Gov. Hope Uzodimma of Imo in the Nov. 11, 2023 governorship election.

A five-member panel of the apex court, in a lead judgment delivered by Justice Mohammed Idris, dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate in Imo election, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, for lacking in merit.

Justice Idris equally dismissed the appeal by the Labour Party (LP) and its candidate, Chief Athan Achonu, for being unmeritorious.

Eneukwu noted “Supreme Court is on point on its pronouncement on the PDP and LP appeals” and “we did not expect anything less.”

The APC chieftain noted that the hard work, massive projects and accomplishments of Gov. Uzodimma had endeared the people to him.

According to him, the massive road constructions Uzodimma’s administration have done in the length and breath of Imo State remains unprecedented in the history of the state.

“Please discountenance the unfounded claims of the opposition parties, if they re-contest the election with Uzodimma as APC flagbearer 10 times; APC will emerge victorious in all.

I have been on ground in Imo State for awhile and attended functions with our amiable Gov. Uzodimma and each time i experience the mammoth crowd reception and deep show of love and appreciation of the residents,” he said.

The deputy national chairmen urged Imo residents to continue their massive support to Uzodimma’s administration as “more dividends of democracy and projects will be coming their way”.

“I will advise our brothers in the opposition parties to join the party of the people and a winning party.

It is time members of the opposition parties join the progressives’ party, APC, and move along to a great future,” he added.
