KWASU Governing Council Inspects Completed Projects At Osi, Ilesa-Baruba Campuses
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Kwara State University’s Governing Council, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali OON, has expressed satisfaction at the pace of work on the ongoing construction of the Osi and Ilesa-Baruba campuses of the University (KWASU).
Professor Ambali made this known after leading the Council on an inspection visit to the two campuses on Wednesday, 14th, and Thursday, 15th of August, 2024.
He stated that the University is determined to begin academic activities at both campuses in the upcoming academic year, noting the commitment of the Kwara State Government to the timely completion of the projects.
The Governing Council has instituted a weekly monitoring schedule to ensure that the construction work is completed on time.
The Vice-Chancellor of KWASU, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, echoed the Pro-Chancellor’s sentiments, highlighting Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s dedication to fulfilling his promise to make the campuses operational.
Professor Jimoh pointed out that the initial contract for the projects was re-awarded to a different company to ensure the timely completion of the campuses.
Architect Mohammed Jimoh Faworaja, the lead consultant on the projects, confirmed that construction is on track to be completed by the end of September.
He mentioned that the key infrastructure, including classrooms, lecture halls, offices, water supply systems, power connections, and road networks, is in advanced stages of completion.
The Governing Council’s visit to the Osi and Ilesa-Baruba communities was met with enthusiasm, as community members came out in large numbers to express their eagerness for the campuses to become operational.
