NAFDAC Warns Against Use of illegal Herbal Product – B-GAG

 

The Director General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye has cautioned Nigerians against the use of an illegal herbal medicine called B-GAG to safeguard their health.

 

Prof. Adeyeye gave the warning via Public Alert No. 023/2024 on the
Illegal production and sale of B-GAG HEALTHY Medicine by Babban Gida Agalawa General Enterprises.

”The product is presented in a pet bottle and was discovered during surveillance carried out by the Agency,” the NAFDAC Boss stated, adding: The product was found to be without NAFDAC Registration Number and with misleading labeling information.

Product Details of the illegal product are as follows:
Product Name: B-GAG HEALTHY Medicine (Mist. Pot Cit. Syrup)
Batch Number: 0070
Manufacturing Date: 01/02/2024
Expiry Date: 01/02/2027.

Prof. Adeyeye urged Consumers and caregivers to exercise caution and vigilance to avoid the use of the product.

She Counselled that ”all medical products must be obtained from authorised/licensed suppliers”, adding: The products’ authenticity and physical condition should be carefully checked.
