Mrs Rifkatu Yakubu, the Bauchi state Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has warned the outgoing corps members across the country that the scheme doesn’t issue a second certificate.

She gave the warning in Bauchi on Thursday during distribution of Certificate of National Service to the outgoing 2023 Batch ‘B’ stream II corps members in Bauchi state.

The state Coordinator, who urged the corps members to handle their certificates with utmost care, said if lost, only a letter of acknowledgement would be issued to any corps member who lost his certificate.

“Immediately you collect your certificate, ensure you handle it with all care because we don’t issue a second certificate. When your original certificate is missing, we don’t issue another one.

“We’ll just give you a letter saying that you have served with us and that’s all. So, please, handle it with care,” she advised.

Yakubu also urged the corps members not to be in a rush to laminate their certificates, admonishing them to check and ensure that their names were well spelt before lamination.

“If there is any error or mistakes in your certificate, go to the deployment and relocation branch and they will advise you on what to do.

“Those of you that have harkened to our advice right from the orientation camp till the end of service year, especially on post camp Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, I believe that God will not abandon you.

“You will see the importance of that hand work you have learned,” said the state Coordinator.

A total of 1477 which consisted of 962 males and 515 females corps members collected their certificate of National Service in the state.
