Ogidi Community Leader Urges Kwara Gov To Extend Infrastructure To Rural Areas

The Magaji Ogidi ward in Ilorin West local government Area of Kwara, Alhaji Soliu Amasa-Ajape has called on Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to extend the ongoing infrastructure development in the state to rural communities across the 193 wards on the state.

Amasa-Ajape made the call on Saturday in Ilorin when the community received a Team of Community Development Council of the llorin West Local government area.

The team was led by the Development Officer, Ilorin West Local Government, Hon Abdullahi Abdulfatai-Ajia.

The Magaji Ogidi highlighted some of the challenges facing the communities in Ogidi ward in terms of infrastructural facilities, such as the construction of Guniyan road, Alore-Alalubosa road, Adabiyah road and interlocking of Magaji Ogidi Palace.

He, however, thanked the Governor for his remarkable stride in infrastructural development, educational upliftment, and community welfare.

“The provision of infrastructure will pave way for sustainable growth and also create a vibrant community,” he said.

In his remarks, the Development Officer, Ilorin West Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Abdulfatai-Ajia said that the visit was to identify the immediate needs that would benefit the community in particular and the state at large.

Abdulfatai-Ajia said that the present administration in the state would ensure that the dividends of democracy reach all nooks and crannies of the state.

The Chairman Community Development Council in the area, Alhaji AbdulGaniy Amasa, advised communities in the state to support the present administration in order to move Kwara forward.

The Women Representative of the area, Alhaja Zabitiyu Salau, enjoined women to always monitor the activities of their wards and children so that they can be good ambassadors and useful of the society.

Speaking on behalf of the Youths in the community, Comrade Bello Bulola-Jamiu said the appointment of development officers in each of the 16 local government areas with you was part of practising democracy and would accelerate more development in the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the team later visited some ongoing road construction on the Communities such as Guniyan-Abayawo road, Alore-Popoola-Alalubosa road and Adabiyah-Alore roads, all in Ogidi ward. (NAN)
