Dangote Refinery Reacts To Fire Outbreak, Says It Was Minor, Contained
There have been a fire outbreak situation on at Dangote refinery in Lagos.
The fire broke out this afternoon at a section of the refinery located near Lekki, Lagos.
Emergency services responded swiftly to contain the incident, and according to initial reports, no injuries have been sustained.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigations are underway to determine the extent of the damage and what led to the incident.

Dangote Industries Limited in an official reaction to reports of fire outbreak at its refinery in Lagos said the fire broke out this afternoon at a section of the refinery located near Lekki, Lagos.
In a statement by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding & Communications Officer, Dangote Industries Limited, the fire incident occurred at one of the refinery’s effluent treatment plants and has since been contained.
He said there was no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating normally. He also explained that there was no case of injury or body harm to any staff of the refinery.
The statement in full:
“We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP), today Wednesday 26th of June.
There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to any of our staff on duty.”
