Kwara: NSITF Holds Rally, Advocates Occupational Safety, Health Standards in Work Place

The staffs of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF),on Friday held a rally to educate the public on occupational safety and health standards in work place.

The rally was held in Ilorin to commemorate World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2024.

The Head of Health Safety and Environment, Ilorin branch, Mr Ademola Adewole said the rally was held to educate public and workers on safety tips at their work place.

Adewole said NSITF is saddled with the responsibility to rehabilitate employees who suffer work related injuries,occupational diseases and disabilities.

According to him, the theme for year 2024 is : The Impact of Climate Change on Occupational Safety And Health.

” The rally is to educate the general public on how to prioritize their health safety at work.

” The impact of climate change on occupational safety and health can never be ignore. Everybody must be on alert and be conscious of their health and safety.

” The message is for both the employers and the employees to take home. Your occupational safety and health is key,” he said.

Adewole also said NSITF provide a fair guaranteed and adequate compensation for all insured employees.

He urged the public to be proactive against the negative impact of climate change on their occupational safety and health.

The rally was held along Asa-Dam, Geri-Alimi , Saw Mill axis in Ilorin and witnessed massive turn out from the staffs of NSITF.
