NA Sobi Cantonment Celebrates Social Activities To Strengthen Bonds
The Nigeria Army Sobi Cantonment has celebrated 2023 edition of Nigerian Army Social Activity (NASA) to strengthen bonds among the officers and Soldiers and promotes cultural heritage of the country.
The General Officer Commanding 2 division Nigeria Army, Maj. Gen. Bamidele Alabi, stated this on Sunday at Nigeria Army Institute of Science Education and Technology Sport Ground Sobi, Ilorin.
Alabi who was represented by the Provost Nigeria Army College of Education, Maj. Gen. UN Babangida, said that NASA is an annual event organized by the Nigerian Army to celebrate the diverse rich cultural heritage of our great country.
He added that the annual event brings together Officers, Soldiers, and their families in a relaxed atmosphere to celebrate and mark the end of the year’s activities.
He charged the officers and Soldiers to be more dedicated to duties in securing the nation.
“You will all agree with me that year 2023 was quite eventful for the Nigerian Army especially in the context of security challenges across the country.
“However, our troops have been applauded for the unrelenting efforts to tackle these challenges.
“It is time now to socialize and display our rich cultural heritage.
“This event serves as a testament to the strong bonds of camaraderie, unity, and the indomitable spirit that defines the Nigerian Army.
“It is a time for us to come together, not only to celebrate our achievements and successes but also to strengthen our bonds.
“Today, as we gather here, let us take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers, who have given their all to protect our nation and preserve the peace.
“Their selflessness and courage inspire us to continue striving for excellence and upholding the values that the Nigerian Army stands for”, Alabi said.
Highlights of the event were the tour of Units and Garrison stands, Cultural display by different ethics group, children dance, masquerade display,beating of retreat and lighting of the born fire among others.
